Am I being too sensitive??

This morning, after church, my son was telling my MIL what classes he was taking next year. He told her his teacher had recommended Latin but I (his mom) didn't want him to take it. She proceeds to try to talk him into and I informed her again that we wanted him to take other classes. (that he could actually use for college!)
